Lonliness Linked To Blood Pressure
If you are over 50, or are a loner and do not have many friends, you have an increased risk of high blood pressure, according to a new study just released. In some cases documented, the people who were classified as lonely has a 30 point increase in their readings, suggesting mental health and social activities may be just as important as diet and exercise.
The study was conducted in the Chicago area, with 229 men and women ages 50 to 68, and appears in the March edition of the journal Psychology and Aging.
